A Taste of What's to Come

I know this might sound kind of strange, but Lauren and I both agree that we turned a corner this weekend. Tasting and drawing cakes, for whatever reason, kicked our wedding excitment into high gear. Talking about what colors the tiers should be was more exciting than dresses and suits and veils and shoes, if you can believe it.

Maybe it's because the cake is going to be two feet tall. Maybe it's because it's a fancy cake from a famous maker. Maybe it's because we had lunch with a friend about her gift, rather than a meeting with a vendor about a product. Maybe it's just the tipping point of wedding awesomeness, like all those other wedding milestones dragged us to the cliff, but the cake pushed us off. We are officially coasting through the clouds of wedding awesomeness.

I can't believe I was ever skeptical or ambivalent about having a wedding because this is totally rad. Tomorrow, I'll post the cake sketch.

This makes sense to me. The cake tasting was totally my favorite part of the whole thing. And cake is just good. How could you go wrong with cake?

Cake is delicious. Therefore anything involving cake like activities is delicious. Furthermore, a Charm City Cake? I'm insanely jealous. That means you won't spend nights fretting over whether the cake will actually LOOK good, because at Charm City Cakes they always do it right!

Pumpkin sounds so good and different! Could you pair it with a plain vanilla bean or something?
