1999

With this latest entry of My Life in Weddings, we have crossed that mythical boundary between family weddings and friend weddings, it is a marker, a milestone, on the road to adulthood.

So, this is senior year of college, at my friend Sadie's wedding. Sadie and I lived in a basement together, with a sheet separating her side of the room from mine. Good times, good times.

I remember that the reception was catered by Udupi Palace and was amazingly scrumptious. I also remember that I spent a portion of the reception driving around, getting lost in pursuit of the first dance music which someone had left somewhere that wasnt the reception hall.

The other thing I remember is this hairstyle, which clearly I wish I could forget. I was going through that unfortunate Lesbians Wont Like Me If I Don't Have Short Hair phase. It is after my Righteous Bisexuals Have Shaved Heads phase, but before the I'll Just Spike It phase.

Luckily, I did not attend any weddings during the I'll Just Spike It phase.

You look stunning in that picture, Des, even without your long hair.
