The Dress

The dress is purchased. Obtained. Procured. Boughten. Right now, it hangs on the closet door in my front hallway wondering what's next. This period of time in the life of a wedding dress is like that time in the life of a newly-born baby, with all that weird hair and flaky skin and squished skull bones. The dress is too long in the torso, too long in the length, too big in the bust, and too tight on the, yes, I said it, hips. A brief description of the dress might be that it is a strapless, floor length, ivory silk gown. It is embroidered with roses and peacocks in white, ivory and beige. It is princess cut with a mermaid silhouette. It is made by Sue Wong. It is done.
